Fire crews battle yacht blaze at Berthon Marina in Lymington




FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze in a yacht moored at a Lymington marina yesterday (Monday) afternoon.

The alarm was raised shortly after 12.30pm as flames took hold beneath the deck and at the head of the 50ft vessel at Berthon Marina, off Bath Road.

Local fire crews spent about an hour bringing the emergency under control with the aid of breathing apparatus.

Lymington RNLI and coastguard teams also attended the scene as a precaution.
