FA Vase: Laverstock & Ford 0-4 Brockenhurst FC

BROCKENHURST FC booked their place in the next round of the FA Vase with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Laverstock & Ford.

After making the long trip to Salisbury, the Badgers found themselves 2-0 up with only 20 minutes played through an own goal and a superb jinking run from Will Tickle who then slotted the ball past the Laverstock keeper, doubling the visitors lead. Laverstock came back into the game towards the end of the first half, however, Brock keeper Jon Webb made sure the visitors went into the break with a two-goal advantage.

Minutes into the second half, the hosts were down to 10 men following a horrendous challenge deemed a second bookable offence. Brock took full advantage of the extra man as Dylan Manufor put the game beyond reach with 58 minutes played. With the Badgers in full control and minutes to play, Arshia Sheibatzadeh made it 4-0 with a smart finish from a late corner.

Brockenhurst will be pleased with their start to the season as they sit fifth in the league with only one loss from their first five games and an FA Vase cup run which is still alive and kicking.

Badgers manager Pat McManus told the A&T: “We are very happy to progress to the next round. I felt we were in control from the start, which was pleasing as we had a number of personnel missing for various reasons and had prepared those available for a challenging tie.”

Brockenhurst will travel to Gloucestershire in the next round to face Bishop's Cleeve.
