Sir – May I refer to the comments by Cllr Valya Schooling (A&T, 10th February – War hero memorial on toilet wall ‘insult’)?

"Selling the Bournemouth offices would release far more cash than selling the Christchurch offices."

"Maybe it is time to have a rethink about whether an unreliable clock is worth restoring at all"

Sir – People who are not in housing need are often accused of nimbyism when they object to new housing development.

"There appears to be no evidence that the present situation is harming rare species"

SIR – In the last week I was told by my local GP practice that I had been referred for respiratory treatment to the Fenwick clinic.

Sir – I have just read the letter about cleaners being paid too much (Letters, 13th January).

Sir – My attention was directed to your front page article regarding the refusal by NFDC to allow Redrow to convert space at Lymington Shores.

Sir – Richard Grant asks why it is that some members of parliament receive knighthoods. All he has to do look up their citations online.

Sir – I was dismayed to learn that Churchill developers have decided to resubmit their application for the old police station site

Sir – I read with interest your article 'Landowners urged to join homes push' (A&T, 30th December).

SIR – Letters highlighting the crises of housing for the young, "retirement" housing, and the need for convalescent homes were right on target.

SIR – Thanks for the two sensible and good letters about how sensible, observant people drive prudently past the ponies on Forest roads.

SIR – So the correspondent suggested that to ease housing shortages for young people, to allow flats for the elderly to be shared with young people?

Sir – Your front page article on pond ice skating (A&T, 16th December) caused my eyebrows to raise beyond their design criteria.

"The problem is likely to get much worse."

Sir – Mr Whitfield has a disciple in his anti-pine marten philosophy; Mr Walsh has the same narrow view on the subject of the marten.
