The two-day New Forest Fairy Festival returns to Burley this summer
Live music, yoga, magic-wand-making workshops and puppet shows are just some of the highlights of the New Forest Fairy Festival.
Returning to Burley Park in August, the two-day event is billed as a celebration of imagination, unity and nature, featuring a busy programme of live music and creative classes.
Festival director Holly Norman said: “Set in the heart of the ancient New Forest, this beloved annual gathering is more than just a festival.
“Whether you’re a forest witch, moon elf, mushroom sprite, a fairy, or simply curious, the festival is your stage to express your truest self. No judgment, just joy. Costumes aren’t required – but they’re certainly encouraged.”
There will be musical performances from George Croucher, Mumford and Sons tribute Chasing Mumford, Bella Rose, Mojo and The Royal Restitution, Crystal Visions, Hello Dolly – Dolly Parton Tribute, Stompin K Thompson, and The Fabulous Red Diesel.
There will also be an array of workshops and activities to try out including yoga, sound baths, herbal lore and wand crafting. Meanwhile, a magical children’s realm will feature fairy theatre, circus skills, puppet shows, games and storytelling.
A fairy market and food and drink stalls are also set to pop up across the site.
“There’s nothing else quite like it,” said Holly. “You walk through those gates, and suddenly you’re part of a world where everyone is free to be fully themselves. It’s beautiful, it’s safe, it’s wildly fun – and it reminds us that magic is very real when we make it together.”
Holly added: “Whether you’re arriving by wings, boots or broomsticks, the New Forest Fairy Festival is your invitation to let go of the ordinary and step fully into the realms of pure enchantment . For one weekend only, the Forest comes alive with laughter, dancing, storytelling, music and a whole lot of sparkle.”
The New Forest Fairy Festival is at Burley Park on 9th and 10th August. Tickets are priced £20 for adults and £10 for children – under 6s go free. To find out more visit www.newforestfairyfestival.com
