Stewart Beckett exhibition Out of The Grey, Palais des Vaches, Exbury
PORTRAIT and landscape artist Stewart Beckett is set to launch his first solo exhibition, Out of the Grey, at Palais des Vaches Art Galley in Exbury.
Best known for his portrait work, Beckett also has a passion for landscapes and creating topical imagery that highlights issues of our time.
He regularly exhibits at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London and was recently elected associate member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters after taking part in its prestigious annual exhibition over the last seven years.
Out of the Grey will feature a large body of work including many charcoal drawings, portrait paintings and colourful landscapes.
Curated to reflect the passing of winter into spring, the show will bring together the full spectrum of Stewart’s practice into one place for the first time.
The artwork arrangement will take visitors on a visual journey, out of the grey to full colour through a range of paintings and drawings around the gallery.
Set on the banks of Beaulieu River, Palais des Vaches was created during the pandemic by Exbury Garden’s president Nick de Rothschild and his wife Caroline.
Once an agricultural milking parlour, the historic building has been lovingly transformed into a stunning exhibition space and private event venue which is open to the public most weekends. Admission is free with various pop-up dining options available.
The exhibition will then be open to the public during open weekends from Saturday 1st March.
On Saturday 8th Stewart will be hosting a two-hour Landscape in Oils demonstration session from 11am-1pm. He will also be giving a 30-minute guided tour of Out of the Grey the same day from 2pm-2.30pm. Entry to both is free.
