End of the Road Festival, Lamer Tree Gardens, Salisbury to feature comedians, authors and an eclectic mix of musicians and DJs
COMEDIANS, thought-provoking authors and an eclectic array of musicians and DJs are set to feature in the line-up of this year’s End of The Road Festival.
Already announced headliners include Idles, Slowdive, Fever Ray and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, with a packed programme of comedy and literature also planned.
Founded in 2006, the End Of The Road will mark its 18th festival in the grounds of Larmer Tree Gardens on the Dorset-Wiltshire border, this year welcoming around 13,500 attendees across the weekend. The festival boasts five stages, and will feature more than 100 live music sets throughout the weekend.
Headlining this year’s comedy programme will be Lebanese-American comedian Janine Harouni, whose Netflix special was selected as one of The Guardian’s ‘Ten Comedians to Watch in 2021’. The BBC New Comedy award-winner is known for expertly delivering polished punchlines and poignant comments on life and death.
Scottish fan favourite and Taskmaster star Fern Brady will showcase her straight-talking and uncompromising routine along with deadpan stand-up Stewart Lee, who is often hailed as the comedian’s comedian.
Elsewhere on the comedy bill, Josie Long will bring her infectious charm along with Northern powerhouse Paddy Young, who describes himself as “hungry, horny and scared!”
The festival will also feature a programme of exploratory chats with leading authors and memoirists on the Talking Heads stage.
Acclaimed cultural historian Richard King, whose work focuses on the intersections of identity, subculture and place, will discuss his latest book Travels Over Feeling.
Marchelle Farrell speaks passionately about the relationships between our external landscapes and internal ones. Her debut memoir, Uprooting, won the 2021 Nan Shepherd Prize for nature writing.
American record producer and writer Joe Boyd will be discussing his upcoming debut book, And the Roots of Rhythm Remain: A Journey through Global Music.
Producer, musician and founder of the beloved independent label Bella Union, Simon Raymonde, will also be speaking about his memoir In One Ear.
End of the Road Festival is at Larmer Tree Gardens from 29th August to 1st September. Adult weekend tickets are priced from £255 and children and teen tickets start from £60. For more information visit https://endoftheroadfestival.com
