Old Mill pub at Gordleton to host Summer Solstice Music Festival
THE longest day will be celebrated with a free one-day festival at the Old Mill pub at Gordleton, near Lymington, this weekend.
The free Summer Solstice Music Festival will take place on Saturday 22nd June from midday to 10pm and feature an array of local bands and acts.
Organiser Ian Halliday is renowned for organising the popular Wheel Fest bank holiday events at the nearby Wheel Inn.
He said: “During the afternoon there are an eclectic mix of local musicians and bands performing pop, rock, blues, folk and original songs. The evening programme features bands that make you want to get up and dance.”
The stage will be set up on the main lawn with outdoor seating, deckchairs and a covered area with tables and chairs. Admission is free and attendees are invited to bring a folding chair or rug to sit on.
Tables inside the pub and some outdoor seating will be reserved for dinners and an outdoor barbecue will also be available throughout the day.
Ian added: “The Old Mill ran a few outdoor music events last August and this year they were keen to host a full day festival. The setting is absolutely beautiful with a stream and sculptures in the gardens, so as long as the weather forecast stays good it will be a really lovely day for music lovers and all the family.”
The music programme runs from midday and features One-Man-Band at midday; Ukerjax at 12.40pm; Jonathan at 1.30pm; Empty Frets (pictured) at 2.20pm; The Dekoratorz at 3.20pm; Behind the Mask at 4.20pm; Cheese & Weasels at 5.20pm; Repeat Performance at 6.10pm; The Wafoos at 7.05pm; Magikat and at 8pm and Bish Bash Bosh at 9pm.
