Be in to win tickets to Mayflower Theatre panto Goldilocks and the Three Bears, starring Jason Donovan
FORMER soap heartthrob and West End star Jason Donovan will lead the cast in Goldilocks and the Three Bears at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton.
Stepping up alongside former Coronation Street actress Faye Brookes as Goldilocks, Donovan will revive his role as the evil Ringmaster.
With sets and costumes from the London Palladium, Goldilocks and the Three Bears follows Dame Betty Barnum and her daughter Goldilocks who are battling to save their circus from the evil Ringmaster who is intent on stealing their three loveable bears and leaving them in ruin.
The production runs from Saturday 10th December to Saturday 31st December and also stars TV favourite Richard Cadell and his lovable sidekicks Sooty and Sweep.
The production is staged by Crossroads Pantomimes, the world’s biggest pantomime producer, led by Michael Harrison and the creative team behind the Mayflower’s 2021 production of Cinderella.
Mr Harrison said: “It is going to be sensational to have Jason, Faye and Richard play to Southampton audiences this Christmas in this wonderfully circus-themed pantomime that will incorporate the very best of the production I created for the sell-out London Palladium panto in 2019.”
Donovan became a household name playing Scott Robinson in Neighbours during the 1980s, before releasing the best-selling album Ten Good Reasons in 1989.
He went on to enjoy a glittering stage career, appearing in the title role of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and then the Rocky Horror Show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, the Sound of Music and many other West End shows.
Brookes is well-known for her role as Kate Connor in ITV1’s Coronation Street. She recently came second in TV talent show Dancing on Ice.
