Dan Brown’s epic thriller The Da Vinci Code set for the stage at Salisbury Playhouse
An electrifying stage adaptation of Dan Brown’s best-selling thriller The Da Vinci Code will open at Salisbury Playhouse next month.
With direction from Chelsea Walker and design by Alys Whitehead, the production has been adapted for the stage by Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel – the duo behind the smash hit play The Girl on the Train which played at Salisbury Playhouse in 2023.
The story follows Professor Robert Langdon and fellow cryptologist Sophie Neveu as they embark on a pulse-pounding quest across Europe. When a brutal murder in the Louvre Museum uncovers hidden clues within Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpieces, the duo must unravel a web of intrigue that could alter the course of history.
Audiences will join them as they uncover the twists and turns of ancient secrets, relentless rivals and coded messages in a quest to protect a secret that could change the world forever.
First published in 2003, The Da Vinci Code has been translated into more than 50 different languages, with author Dan Brown named in Time 100 most influential people. The book was subsequently adapted into a smash-hit movie that grossed more than $750 million.
Sherry Baines will play Sister Sandrine, Marie and Docent; and Joe Bannister plays Robert Langdon. Joining them, Philip Bretherton plays Teabing; Richard Clews plays Jaques Sauniere; Joshua Griffin plays Remy/ Philip/The Clerk; and Georgia-Mae Myers plays Sophie Neveu.
Additionally the cast will include Louise Mai Newberry in the roles of Collet, Vernet and volunteers; Anthony Ofoegbu as Bezu Fache and Joe Pitts as Silas.
