Summer Wheel Fest returns to New Wheel Inn at Pennington
LIVE music is set to pulse from a Pennington pub as the one-day Summer Wheel Fest returns next month.
The 11-hour musical marathon at The New Wheel Inn at Bowling Green is set to take place on Saturday 3rd June from midday.
Organiser Ian Halliday said: ”The event provides an opportunity for local musicians and bands to perform to an invariably enthusiastic audience. There is a full programme of acts from midday, with an eclectic mix of folk, Americana, rock and pop music.”
The musical line-up features Angus at 12noon, Ukerjax ukulele quartet at 12.40pm, Free-Wheelers at 1.35pm, Jonathan at 2.30pm, World Goes Wrong at 3.15pm, The Dekoratorz at 4.10pm, Cheese and Weasels at 5.05pm, Bish-Bash-Bosh at 6pm, Magikat at 7pm, Empty Frets at 8pm and Rooster Tooth at 9pm.
Ian added: “Previous events have been lucky with the weather, with daytime performances in the pub garden. But if the weather is inclement there is the option of musicians and bands performing inside the pub.”
Admission is free and barbecue food will be available to buy. The family-friendly day will also feature a children’s play area and a bouncy castle.
The events are free to enter and there will be plenty of car parking in adjacent fields. For more details visit the pub’s Facebook page @thenewwheelinn
