Highcliffe Charity Players to perform The Wedding Singer at Christchurch Regent Centre

HEARTWARMING and hilarious, the Wedding Singer will be on stage at Christchurch Regent Centre later this month.

Based on the much loved 1998 film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, the classic rom-com is set to be reimagined by the cast of Highcliffe Charity Players.

Audiences will be transported back to the 1980s with its infectious music, hilarious characters, and heart-warming story of love and second chances.

Director Adam Myers said: "We are incredibly excited to bring the Wedding Singer to life on stage. The cast and crew have been working tirelessly to deliver a performance that is both entertaining and heartfelt. It's a fantastic show that promises to be a great night out."

Highcliffe Charity Players have a longstanding tradition of supporting local charities through their productions. This year, the players have already donated £2,500 to charity Elsie's Rose, from proceeds of a raffle held during their pantomime run of Robin Hood and from clothes swaps run by HCP member, Kate Cheetham.

Continuing this spirit of generosity, the summer show will also feature a raffle, with all proceeds going to a local cause.

HCP chair Pete Whitaker said: "Supporting our community through theatre is at the heart of what we do. We're delighted to have raised significant funds for Elsie's Rose and look forward to supporting another local charity this summer. We encourage everyone to come along, enjoy the show, and help us make a positive impact."

Local couples who were married in the 1980s also have a chance to have their wedding photos featured in a big screen montage. Photos and videos will be featured before the show and during the interval. Images can be sent to info@highcliffecharityplayers.com

The Wedding Singer will be on stage at The Regent from 25th to 27th July. Tickets are £19.50 and £18.50 for concessions with £2 from every ticket donated to The Regent Development Fund.
