The Zoots – Sounds of the Seventies, Regent Centre, Christchurch
AFTER playing gigs around the globe, tribute band the Zoots will perform a Sounds of the Seventies concert at Christchurch’s Regent Centre on Saturday 25th November.
The award-winning musicians have sold over half a million downloads, wowed audiences on stage and screen in more than 35 countries, and played iconic national venues like the London Palladium and Alhambra Theatre in Bradford.
The Sounds of the Seventies show will celebrate the music of Elton John, Chic, Dolly Parton, Rod Stewart, David Bowie, Queen and Abba.
In August the Zoots were named 2022 band of the year in the Corporate Live Wire Innovation and Excellence awards, and in 2018 they won the UK best pop music cover band award at the Global Entertainment Awards.
Their music has also appeared on TV ads, helping to make Wiltshire-born lead singer Jamie Goddard a gold-selling songwriter.
His songs have been used in adverts for OKI and Nokia and his music has helped Chinese students to learn English. He has also made two albums for Warner Brothers and worked with the Searchers and Gerry and the Pacemakers.
Jamie said: “The Zoots have played in front of audiences on four continents, from Israel to Italy, Havana to Venice, Barcelona to Montego Bay – but there’s something especially nerve-racking about playing to a British crowd!”
Sounds of the Seventies will be at the Regent on Friday 25th November at 7.30pm. Tickets are £18.
