Outdoor theatre production Alice and the White Rabbit will show at Woodside Gardens in Lymington over Easter
Lymington’s Woodside Gardens will be the setting for an outdoor walk-around theatre production of Alice and the White Rabbit.
Billed as an original musical created especially for families, the show has been masterminded by New Forest Open Air Theatre, formerly London Touring Players.
Featuring a cast of West End professionals, the show will follow the White Rabbit around the gardens on a Wonderland adventure.
New Forest Open Air Theatre spokesperson and show director, Abbey Wright, said: “With brilliant songs and high comedy throughout, the show is very entertaining and a great introduction to theatre for children as they can run around, sing, and join in; and they don’t have to be forced to sit still. The show is perfect for all aged children and their grown-ups.”
Alice and the White Rabbit follows the story of Alice in Wonderland closely, featuring the beloved characters of the Caterpillar, the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, and the Cheshire Cat.
The cast are both straight from the West End; Myfanwy Grace, playing Alice, has recently performed as Maria Von Trapp with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall, and Elliot Goodhill playing the White Rabbit has this month finished a run of The Play That Goes Wrong at the Duchess Theatre.
Mr Goodhill, said: “These gardens provide a magical backdrop, and it's a joy to see families and children escape from everyday life and experience the beauty of nature through our performance. This beloved story, with its vibrant and eccentric characters, is a true pleasure to bring to life."
Alice and the White Rabbit will be at Woodside Gardens from Friday 11th April until Monday 21st April. The show lasts around 50 minutes. Tickets are priced from £9 for children and £12 for adults.
