TV antique experts Susan Rumfitt and Mark Hill set to share their wisdom at New Milton Arts Society events
TV antique experts Susan Rumfitt and Mark Hill are set to share their wisdom at two special events organised by New Milton Arts Society.
Antiques Roadshow jewellery authority Susan will be the speaker at The Retreat New Forest at Hinton on Thursday 20th February.
Susan will be bringing costume jewellery to take attendees on an exciting journey on the intriguing behaviour of gemstone dealers and jewellers across Europe since 1500 in their quest to deceive. The day includes coffee, three lectures and a buffet lunch prepared by Colin Nash at his restaurant. Tickets are £42.
New Milton Arts Society co-chair Rita Hembry-Harriss said: “We are a friendly group of like-minded people who come together through their shared curiosity for the arts and to expand their knowledge, understanding and love of the creative arts in all their forms.
“We have over 100 members and visitors are always welcome on the second Thursday of the month.”
On Thursday 13th February, Antiques Roadshow expert Mark Hill will give a talk on one of his favourite topics: Mid-Century Modern Italian Ceramics ‘Alla Moda’ (fashionable and elegant). This event will take place at New Milton Memorial Hall at 10.15am.
Rita added: “Our lectures take place at the Memorial Centre in Whitefield Road – there is coffee and biscuits and a warm welcome.
“We have internationally renowned speakers from all over Britain to share their knowledge in an engaging and informative way on topics from architecture, art, pottery, music, dance, literature and even the history of Monopoly!”
New Milton Arts Society meets on the second Thursday of every month, except July and August. For more information on forthcoming events and tickets visit www.newmiltonartssociety.org.uk
