THE organisers behind the New Forest Marathon, ORA Events, have announced an exciting route change for the 2019 event.

With the help of Rhinefield House, this year's half and full marathon runners will run through the grounds of the hotel which is situated in the heart of the forest.

Alongside the marathon, the event will host a race village including and a brand new Saturday acoustic stage featuring live acts all day, live music stage, hop on bus bars, technical traders from the world of running including Garmin, Alexandra Sports and RunR.

There will also be a host of children’s activities area including archery, assault course and inflatable fun.

ORA Events organiser Chris Farr said: “Each year we strive to make the event better and this change with certainly be a popular one. Planning a rural marathon is not as easy as just taking the next road to create distance.

"These tweaks are only possible with the amazing support from organisations such as the Forestry Commission and companies like Rhinefield House Hotel who by working collectively bring benefits to all involved.”

The sell-out event returns on Sunday September 8th, boasting the full and half marathon as well as a 10k, 5k, Junior 1k, 200m and Woodland Walk.
