Man left with lacerations after late night attack
A MAN was left with head injuries and lacerations to his leg following a late night attack in a home on a New Milton street.
Police and paramedic teams, including the Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance, responded to reports the local victim, who is in his 20s, had been assaulted in Hardy Close, near the Nedderman Centre, shortly after 11.30pm on Saturday.
The man was taken by land ambulance to Southampton General Hospital, but a Hampshire Police spokesperson said his injuries were not thought to have been life-threatening.
No details of a weapon have been confirmed by the force.
A police helicopter was spotted overhead as officers with torches searched the street and its surroundings for a suspect. No arrests have yet been made.
One resident reported seeing a white sheet or duvet covered with blood lying in the street after the attack.
Witnesses are being urged to come forward as investigations continue in a bid to establish what happened.
