Inquest opens into death of 16-year-old Elliot Jones who died after being struck by train near Ashurst New Forest railway station




A PERSON who died after being struck by a train near a New Forest railway station has been named as 16-year-old Elliot Jones.

The youngster, of Waverley Road, Fordingbridge, passed away on the line near Ashurst station on Monday 10th March.

An inquest opened at Winchester Coroners’ Court on Tuesday heard the preliminary cause of death was multiple injuries from a train collision.

As reported by the A&T, British Transport Police confirmed the incident, around 2.30pm, was not being treated as suspicious.

The hearing was adjourned, and a full inquest into the teenager’s death is due to be held at the same court on 15th July.
