New Forest pony rescued from ditch on farm in Newbridge, near Cadnam




A NEW Forest pony found "cold and shivering" in a steep ditch was rescued by fire crews.

The owner of 37-year-old Tango found the animal trapped on a farm in Newbridge, near Cadnam, on Wednesday morning.

Firefighters from Redbridge were called, and were joined by animal rescue crews from Overton, Winchester and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service's Manitou vehicle.

A local vet sedated Tango and gave painkillers before crews used the Manitou to lift the animal from the ditch. It was then handed over to the vet and owner.
