Plans to extend AFC Totton's Snows Stadium submitted to NFDC

A FOOTBALL club has applied for planning permission to build two one-storey extensions to its clubhouse to help comply with new Covid-19 regulations.

Representatives for AFC Totton, which is based at the Snows Stadium in Salisbury Road, state in the application they want to create a larger reception area and kitchen.

Documents submitted to the council state: "The reception area is deemed insufficient to provide suitably covered waiting space for visitors within the clubhouse and this has been exacerbated following the implementation of Covid-19 related policies. The proposal would also facilitate an additional area for club merchandise to be displayed."

It adds: "The kitchen is required to be enlarged to provide services to spectators who will remain outside the clubhouse and will be served via a relocated serving hatch."

If approved, the development would create the equivalent of eight full-time jobs. There would be no impact on parking on site, the application adds.

Planning permission was granted for the original clubhouse in 2007.

A decision is expected to be made by New Forest District Council after the public consultation period ends on 25th June. So far no comments have been received, either for or against the application.
