Naked rambler alert for New Forest walkers after sighting near Minstead

NEW Forest walkers have been warned to be aware of naked ramblers following a sighting near Minstead on Sunday.

The alert by the parish council came after a villager reported seeing a man wearing nothing but his walking boots and woolly hat, and carrying a bag for life, in the Acres Down area.

Sharing details of the incident on Facebook, the council described the man as about 6ft tall and aged around 45-50.

“The parishioner who reported it said he was not threatening in any way – he just said hello and walked on,” the post said.

“However, as many of us are walkers in the area, we are passing on the information for you to be aware.”

The post mentioned “a few” naked ramblers had been seen “periodically” in the Forest.

The A&T previously reported on two no-briefs encounters in September last year.

One naked man had been spotted between Lyndhurst and Ashurst, and another walker wearing only a bicycle helmet and trainers was seen at Bolderwood.
