Assaulting four men at The Ship in Christchurch earns Jake Coker year’s ban from pubs, bars and nightclubs




ATTACKING four men resulted in a Christchurch man being banned from all local pubs, bars and nightclubs for a year.

Jake Coker (30), of Nelson Drive, pleaded guilty to charges of assaulting the quartet by beating at The Ship on the town’s high street on 30th August 2024.

In addition to these offences, Coker admitted possessing a quantity of class B controlled drug cannabis at the same place and date.

Poole magistrates issued a 12-month community order, as well as the 12-month exclusion order forbidding entry to all local venues, except his place of employment during working hours.

Coker was told to pay £75 compensation to each of the assault victims, along with £199 in court charges.

A forfeiture for destruction order was also made for the cannabis.
