Another pile of rubbish found dumped at New Forest beauty spot
A PILE of laminate flooring with protruding nails dumped at a New Forest beauty spot could have caused serious harm to its wildlife, Forestry England has warned.
The fly-tipped material was found at the edge of the car park at Moonhills in Brockenhurst.
It's the latest in a spate of such incidents which has blighted the New Forest in recent months.
Posting pictures of the discovery on its local @EngNewForest Twitter account, FE urged people to ensure all their waste is disposed of properly.
“Beautiful autumnal morning marred by horrible fly-tipping,” the tweet said.
“This laminate flooring dumped at Moonhills had nasty nails that could cause injury to livestock and wildlife.
“Please help protect the New Forest and its inhabitants – dispose of your waste responsibly #dontberubbish.”
Police investigating the incident have asked people to come forward if they have any information about what it called “costly and hazardous” fly-tipping in the New Forest. Contact Hampshire officers on 101 or report in confidence to the district council on 023 8028 5000.
