Weather: Met Office issues yellow rain warning for eastern New Forest and Waterside on Thursday 3rd November

PARTS of the New Forest have been warned of another dumping of rain tomorrow.

Fresh from the mess left behind by Storm Claudio this week, the Met Office has sent out a yellow warning for the eastern edge of the Forest including the Waterside.

Up to 30mm of persistent, occasionally heavy rain is expected, with spray and flooding possible. Bus and train journeys may also be affected.

The alert is in place from midnight to 3pm.

A spokesperson from the Met Office said: "Heavy rain will affect south-eastern parts of England during Thursday morning, clearing eastwards early afternoon.

"Twenty to 30mm of rain is expected fairly widely, with 40mm in a few places near English Channel coasts.

"The ground is fairly wet, and recent fallen leaves may reduce drainage of surface water in some locations."
