Man (26) arrested on suspicion of rape after teenager attacked near Esso petrol station on Ringwood Road, Totton




A man has been arrested on suspicion of rape after a 16-year-old girl reported she was raped near a petrol station in Totton on Saturday.

The Esso petrol station in Ringwood Road was closed to customers and a police car was on the forecourt until around 6pm after the incident was reported to police.

A spokesperson for Hampshire police told the A&T: "We received a report that a 16-year-old girl was raped in Ringwood Road, Totton, at around 2.30am on 8th April.

"A 26-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of rape and has been bailed with conditions while enquiries continue."

"The girl is being supported by specialist officers."
