Dangerous driving arrest after motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in crash with lorry at junction of Gosport Lane, A337 Clay Hill and Shrubbs Hill Lane, and the A35 Chapel Lane in Lyndhurst
A MOTORIST was arrested after a crash with a lorry at Lyndhurst left a motorcyclist fighting for his life.
The collision, involving a black Honda bike and a red-and-white curtain-sided goods vehicle happened at the junction of Gosport Lane, the A337 Clay Hill and Shrubbs Hill Lane, and the A35 Chapel Lane around 12.35pm last Friday.
The rider, a man in his 60s from New Milton, was taken to hospital having suffered what were described by police as life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested a 52-year-old man from Bognor Regis on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He was later released under investigation as enquiries continued.
Witnesses and those with relevant video footage are being urged to come forward.
A Hampshire force spokesperson said: “Officers are specifically keen to speak with the driver of a grey 2022 registration Seat car, which had roof bars on, which arrived at the scene soon after the incident, as they may have information which could assist us.”
