Arrest as man hospitalised after ‘stabbing’ on Hunt Road in Somerford, Christchurch




A MAN was rushed to hospital after a reported stabbing in Christchurch today (Tuesday).

Police and paramedics rushed to Hunt Road in Somerford after the alarm was raised around midday, with the victim said to have suffered stab wounds.

He was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment.

Several police vehicles were at the scene as a man in his 40s from Ringwood was arrested on suspicion of affray.

A cordon was put in place outside Quantock Court amid heightened patrols of the area by officers.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Dorset Police received a report at 12.01pm on Tuesday 11th June 2024 that a man sustained stab wounds in Hunt Road in Christchurch.

“He has been taken to hospital for treatment.

“A man aged in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of affray.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident and there will be an increased police presence in the area as the investigation is ongoing.”
