Arrests over shoplifting incidents in Lymington




POLICE have made two arrests in connection with shoplifting in Lymington.

As reported in the A&T, officers were looking for a woman captured on CCTV over four incidents in the town on 25th January.

They involved a £1,200 antique clock stolen from Dials Antique Clocks on Quay Hill; a hair appliance worth £200 taken from Jack & The Wolfe on Quay Hill; theft of a wallet and fraudulent use of cards inside from Costa Coffee on High Street; and a shoplifting incident at The White Stuff, on High Street, during which a member of staff in her 40s was assaulted.

Now Hampshire police have confirmed a 36-year-old woman from Portsmouth has been arrested on suspicion of shoplifting, fraud by false representation and common assault.

A 32-year-old man, also from Portsmouth, has been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

Both remain in custody.
