ALL Brockenhurst FC players have helped out their own club by donating their March expenses back to the club.

The Badgers, who finished 15th in the Sydenhams Wessex Premier League this season, have had to shut down the social club during the nationwide lockdown. With the lost income, the players took it upon themselves to give back to the club to help.

Brockenhurst FC captain Will Tickle described the act as a ‘no-brainer’. He told the A&T: “We spoke about it briefly in the group chat on how we could give a bit back to the club in these tough times. It was a unanimous decision and a bit of a no-brainer for us to be honest.

“We all love being part of the club and appreciate what they all do for us each week.”

Brock manager Pat McManus was proud of his players to come out in unity: “The players made a decision based on the social club being shut down and obviously no football income for the club.

“They are such a good group of individuals. I expected a gesture from them, but a unanimous decision to donate 100% back was incredibly generous when you take into account some of their personal circumstances.”
