Ban and fine for Hythe man Michael Sayer who crashed vehicle taken without consent and failed to report collision




TAKING a vehicle, crashing it into a lamppost and failing to report the incident resulted in a Hythe man being banned from the roads for 12 months and having to pay more than £900.

Michael Sayer (56), of Elm Crescent, admitted taking a vehicle without consent and damaging it along with the lamppost on Long Lane on 10th December 2023.

He also pleaded guilty to charges of failing to report an accident and driving without a licence in relation to the same incident.

As well as the disqualification, Southampton magistrates imposed a six-month community order requiring the defendant to undergo rehabilitation activity.

He was also fined £733 and told to pay another £199 in court charges.
