Jollyes The Pet People opens new store on Somerford Road in Christchurch
Stilt walkers and a pet kissing booth entertained customers at the opening of a new Christchurch pet store.
Jollyes The Pet People held a bumper celebration at its newest outlet on Somerford Road – the chain’s second in Dorset – which also featured a large airship floating 130ft above.
The launch also supported Dorset Dogs, with the branch match-funding money raised by the charity over the opening to boost its pet food banks across the county.
Cllr Nigel Hedges was on hand to open the branch, alongside helpful pooches Bentley and Dixie who chewed through a string of sausages.
Sam Wells, Jollyes regional manager, said “We had a fabulous day – especially for the team in our new Christchurch and the pets and parents who came along.
“And of course, we loved having Bentley and Dixie officially open the store biting through our iconic string of sausages.”
Nicky Crowe from Dorset Dogs said: “Dorset Dogs were so happy to support the opening of Jollyes in Christchurch, the friendliest pet store, where the staff are as dog mad as we are!
“Jollyes have match funded what we raised on the day for our Pet Food Banks appeal and we are just so grateful. This will help us open a much needed new food bank in the area”.
The new store is part of Jollyes’ expansion plans this year in which it aims to hit £100 million turnover, employ its 1,000th staff member and hitting 100 stores nationwide.
