Bashley remain undefeated as they bowl out Hampshire Academy

BASHLEY backed up their opening day win against Burridge with victory over the Hampshire Academy last Saturday at Newclose CCG.
After winning the toss and electing to field, Bashley took three early wickets to restrict the Academy to 22-3. Wicketkeeper George Metzger top scored with 47 and was aided by captain Bradley Taylor who made a steady 31 as the Hampshire Academy were bowled out for 189.
Josh Digby led the bowling attack as he took 3-27 off his 10 overs to give him six wickets in his first two games.
In the second innings, opener Tom Friend was dismissed for 15 but the visitors recovered as Timothy Taylor and Ben Walker put them within reach of the first innings total.
Captain Michael Porter finished unbeaten on 54 from 64 balls after Walker fell as the visitors took the victory by five wickets.
Bashley are now joint top of the SPL Premier Division with local rivals Lymington and South Wilts after the first two games of the season.
They will host St. Cross Symondians at the BCG on Saturday as they look to continue their impressive start to the campaign.
