Blackfield's Plummer bags a brace to end Stags' FA cup hopes
FA Cup Preliminary Round: Blackfield & Langley 2-1 AFC Totton
LERONE Plummer's brace has put Blackfield & Langley into the next round of the FA Cup after they beat AFC Totton 2-1.
The first chance of the game fell to Blackfield's Hisham Kasimu who pulled a save out of Stags sub keeper Alex Cull, who came on to replace the injured Archie Matthews. Totton then came close as Ollie Bradley forced a save out of Lewis Noice to keep it deadlocked.
The Watersiders made a bright start to the second half and opened the scoring on 49 minutes when Plummer was on hand to grab his first of the game.
After spurning a couple of opportunities, Blackfield were awarded a penalty on 65 minutes when Totton centre half Jack Smith brought down Plummer in the box. Fatah Makhloufi took the resulting penalty, but his spot-kick clipped the right-hand post and went wide.
After 73 minutes, the Stags pulled themselves level with Callaghan supplying a cross to Craig Feeney. The ball reached the Stags striker via a deflection and Feeney sent a thunderous strike flying past Noice.
Totton continued to look threatening, but with four minutes remaining, Liam Farrugia had the ball taken off him around 35 yards out from the Totton goal and Blackfield made the Stags pay.
Plummer smashed home from the right of the box to send the Watersiders through to the next round.
