Body of man (36) found in Popes Lane, Totton




POLICE cordoned off a Totton street after a man was found dead early this morning (Thursday).

The alarm was raised shortly after 7am, when the 36-year-old’s body was discovered in Popes Lane.

Paramedics responded along with officers, but he was confirmed to have died at the scene.

His next of kin were informed of the death, which is not being treated as suspicious.

A Hampshire police spokesperson said: “We were called to Popes Lane in Totton at 7.07am this morning (21st October) following the discovery of a man’s body.

“A 36-year-old man was sadly declared deceased at the scene.

“His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers at this time.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”

One witness reported seeing two police cars and an ambulance, with an officer standing guard in the street.
