Red Funnel assists emergency services after body discovered in water near Calshot




A BODY has been pulled from the water near Calshot.

The alarm was raised early this morning (Thursday), with a Red Funnel ferry helping the emergency services as it was recovered.

A spokesperson for Red Funnel told the A&T: "This morning during our 9am Red Osprey crossing from east Cowes our team assisted the police with an incident in the water.

“We acted swiftly to support the authorities while prioritising the safety of our passengers. The service has now resumed as normal. We appreciate our passengers’ understanding and patience this morning.”

A spokesperson for Hampshire police told the A&T: “We were called around 10.30am after the body of a man was sadly found in the water and brought ashore at Calshot.

“Enquiries are ongoing at this time.”
