Teen boys charged in connection with alleged rape of 14-year-old girl near Fordingbridge Recreation Ground due at Southampton Youth Court




TWO teenage boys were due to appear in court after a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Fordingbridge.

Police had responded to reports the youngster was attacked on land adjacent to Fordingbridge Recreation Ground last Friday evening.

They charged a 14-year-old local boy with rape, threats to kill, possession of a blade in a public place and kidnap/falsely imprison a person with intent to commit a relevant sexual offence.

Another 14-year-old local was charged with rape, threats to kill and kidnap.

The pair, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were set to have appeared at Southampton Youth Court this morning (Tuesday).

A third boy, a 13-year-old from Romsey, had also been arrested in connection with the incident. He was later released on conditional police bail pending further enquiries.

A Hampshire force spokesperson said: “Police were called at 10.41pm on Friday 17th January, however the incident is suspected to have occurred earlier in the evening.

“The girl continues to be supported by specialist officers.”
