A LUXURY hotel Burley Manor has grabbed a top gong at a national awards night celebrating industry excellence.

The venue walked away with the Best Countryside Hotel honour at the 2020 Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence, held at the May Fair Hotel in London.

The scheme, now in its 37th year, recognises top establishments from those recommended by travel guide Condé Nast Johansens and claim to be a “trusted mark of quality recognised by consumers and travel professionals”.

General manager Adam Wilson said the win was testament to his team.

“Every year, there are only a small handful of properties that make it to the top of the awards, and we are so pleased and excited that Burley Manor has been recognised by Condé Nast Johansens as the best countryside hotel,” he said.

“It is a real testament to all the hard work and commitment from our entire team, from the chefs in the kitchen to the housekeeping team, that go above and beyond for every guest.”

This year, the hotel launched its new 15-mile menu, where all ingredients are sourced within 15 miles or less from the estate, and hosted its first food festival in the summer.

Ben Johnson, executive head chef, said: “Along with the whole team at Burley Manor, we are delighted to win this award as our location in the heart of the New Forest is hugely important to the restaurant.

“It is great to be recognised for our team’s dedication and passion for delivering the best food, made with the finest ingredients, in a beautiful setting.”
