Capsized boat find on beach near Barton sparks shoreline search by Lymington and Southbourne coastguard teams and Mudeford RNLI




RESCUERS launched a shoreline search after a capsized boat was found on the beach near Barton.

The alarm was raised around 2.50pm last Thursday following the discovery, and Lymington and Southbourne coastguard teams responded, along with Mudeford RNLI.

Initial concerns there might have been casualties in the water prompted them to carry out a sweep of the area.

Enquiries were also made in a bid to track down the vessel’s owner.

Having established all persons were accounted for safe and well, the crews secured the boat and completed environmental checks.
