Car driven onto railway line at Brockenhurst station disrupts morning trains
AN investigation has been launched after a car was driven onto the railway line at Brockenhurst, disrupting trains this morning (Tuesday).
British Transport Police (BTP) officers responded to a call-out around 6.50am, reporting the vehicle got onto the tracks by the level crossing on the A337 Lymington Road. No injuries were reported.
It was cleared and lines reopened in just over half an hour, but South Western Railway said disruption was expected to continue until midday.
Commuters were warned services running through the station may be cancelled, delayed or revised during this period.
A BTP spokesperson said: “We received a report of a car on the railway line in Brockenhurst at 6.48am today (24th January) and an update that the car was off the line at just before 7.20am.
“Enquiries into this incident are ongoing.”
