Police shut busy Avenue Road in Lymington as broken down car ‘causes a hazard’




THERE was rush-hour traffic disruption in Lymington this morning (Wednesday) when police shut a busy road after a car broke down.

The Hampshire force urged motorists to avoid the area in online posts at 8.20am, announcing officers had been forced to close Avenue Road, between its junctions with Lower Buckland Road and New Street.

A spokesperson told the A&T the closure had been put in place due to the vehicle “causing a hazard to other road users”.

An update posted at 9.40am announced the road had been reopened and thanked motorists for their patience.
