Car destroyed in suspicious fire near Sway railway station

POLICE have been alerted after firefighters battled a suspicious blaze which destroyed a car near Sway railway station.

Called to Station Road shortly before 4pm, a New Milton crew wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames within 25 minutes yesterday (Sunday).

The gutted vehicle was left with police as the incident was believed to have been deliberate, a Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
