Ethos Care based at Lymington Road, Highcliffe, rated as ‘good’ by Care Quality Commission

A Highcliffe care agency which provides support to people in their own homes has been rated ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission.

Ethos Care, which operates from Lymington Road and provides services across Christchurch, was inspected between 16th and 19th June.

A report said: “At the time of our inspection there were 39 people receiving personal care and support. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating.”

Inspectors found there were enough staff to meet the needs of the service, and that they felt appreciated by the management team.

It added: “The service worked well with external health and social care professionals, and we received positive feedback on their working relationship.

“The Ethos Care management team were approachable, visible and supportive.”

Risk assessments covered all aspects of daily care and support, said the CQC, and service users told inspectors they were happy with the care they received and were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives.

Medicines were received as prescribed and staff had received training in infection prevention and control, the report said.

It added there were “plentiful supplies” of personal protective equipment (PPE) for staff.

The report noted any accidents and incidents were recorded and analysed for trends.

The service was last inspected in 2018, when it also received a ‘good’ rating.

The A&T has approached Ethos Care for comment.
