Casualty in serious condition after medical emergency on A31

A PERSON was hospitalised following a medical emergency which caused severe delays on the A31 near Cadnam today (Wednesday).

Traffic was held up for about 45 minutes to allow paramedics to deal with the incident on the westbound carriageway at Castle Malwood after the alarm was raised just before midday on today (Wednesday).

Having been assessed and treated at the scene, the casualty was taken to University Hospital Southampton.

A South Central Ambulance Service spokesperson said they were in “a serious condition”.
