MINSTEAD roadworks are due to shut a route all week from 8pm tonight (Monday) while improvements are made to a cattle grid.

Lyndhurst Road between the A31 and Seamans Corner will be closed off by Highways England until the evening of Friday 12 July.

For the duration, access will be unavailable to and from the A31 westbound at the Seamans Lane junction. A signed diversion around the Minstead roadworks will be in place.

Highways England has advised drivers wishing to join the A31 westbound from Minstead to travel south along Lyndhurst Road to the junction with Football Green, turn left and travel north to the junction with the A337.

They should then turn left and continue to the Southampton Road roundabout, take the first exit onto A31 Southampton Road, then the first exit to join the A31 dual carriageway.

Alternatively, those wishing to exit the A31 westbound to Minstead, should travel to Stoney Cross, turn left onto Stoney Cross Plain Road and go south to Lyndhurst.

At the traffic lights turn left onto the A337 Romsey Road and continue north, then left onto Lyndhurst Road to Minstead.
