CCTV: Woman sought by police after suspected shoplifter spat at store worker at M&S Foodhall on Christchurch High Street




A CCTV picture of a woman has been released by police after a Christchurch store worker was spat at.

The assault happened at the M&S Foodhall on High Street around 2.15pm on Monday 20th January, when a staff member confronted a suspected shoplifter.

Having been asked to leave the shop, the woman reportedly spat at the staff member.

People are now asked to come forward to help identify the woman in the picture.

Police community support investigator Mike Cannings said: “We are continuing our enquiries into this incident and are now in a position to share a CCTV image of woman we would like to identify.

“I would ask anyone who recognises her to please get in touch.

“It is unacceptable for someone to be assaulted while doing their job and we are determined to identify those responsible.”
