CCTV: Hunt for knife-wielding shoplifter who targeted Holbury Co-op




A PASSER-BY was threatened at knifepoint after confronting a suspected shoplifter outside a Holbury shop.

Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to find in connection with the incident which took place at the Co-op branch in Long Lane between 9.20pm and 9.30pm on Sunday 6th June.

The member of the public had challenged a man for reportedly leaving the store without paying for items when he produced a knife and made threats before running off.

He was described as white, aged 25-35, about 5ft 7in tall, slim build, with dark hair, wearing a blue baseball cap, a large dark jacket, jogging bottoms or jeans and white trainers.

People are being urged to come forward if they think they recognise the person shown in the images.

A Hampshire police spokesperson added: “Officers are also keen to identify the member of public who challenged the man.

“This person may be able to help with our investigation. Was this you?”
