CCTV probe after phone stolen on X6 bus travelling from Ringwood to Ferndown
POLICE have released CCTV images of two people they want to find after a phone was stolen in a distraction theft on a bus travelling from Ringwood.
The male victim was befriended by a man and a woman on the number X6 bus, from the town to Ferndown, between around 3.50pm and 4.50pm on Thursday 13th October.
One of the suspects sat next to him and took the mobile phone while the victim was distracted.
Fellow passengers who saw the incident then challenged the pair, and they ran from the bus when it stopped in Ferndown.
Police community support investigator Lindy Wilson said: “The suspects befriended the victim in order to obtain his property, which has had a significant financial impact.
“As part of my enquiries, I have obtained CCTV images of a man and woman I would like to identify and would ask anyone who recognises them to please come forward.
“Also, I would urge the members of the public who were on the bus and intervened to please contact Dorset Police as you may have important information to assist our enquiries.”
