CCTV: Shoplifter steals more than £80 of meat from Tesco on Caird Avenue in New Milton

POLICE have released a CCTV picture of a woman they want to find after more than £80 of meat was stolen from a New Milton supermarket.

The theft at Tesco on Caird Avenue happened on the afternoon of Saturday 23rd March.

People are being urged to come forward if they can help officers identify the woman in the image.

Sharing the appeal online, local officers stressed there were continuing to crack down on business crime.

“We recognise that shoplifting can often be accompanied by disorder, violence and threats, which creates an environment of fear for retail workers which is unacceptable,” they said.

“This is in addition to the impact that theft can have on businesses and consumers.

“The community are our eyes and ears, and we encourage you to keep reporting information to police relating to shoplifting.”
