Evo-Stik Southern Div. 1: Blackfield & Langley 3-1 Barnstaple Town

Blackfield & Langley finished their impressive league campaign with a hard fought 3-1 league win against 19th placed Barnstaple Town in Evo-Stik Southern Division One.

The hosts went 1-0 ahead as Barnstaple failed to clear the ball from a corner which allowed top scorer Lerone Plummer to strike the ball home and give the hosts the lead going into half time.

However, Barnstaple replied with a goal of their own as Saddam Bello scored three minutes after the restart to level the game.

Back in front

The champions remained composed, and they were back in the lead after 68 minutes. Substitute Connor Doe met a cross from Fatah Makhloufi to fire home and give the home side the advantage once again.

Lerone Plummer's second goal sealed the game for the Watersiders on 73 minutes as his strike from the edge of the box found the back of the net to give the hosts a deserved 3-1 victory.

Plummer's brace gives him 22 goals in the league this season and earns him fourth on the top scorer's list.

Celebrations commence

The victory rounds off an incredible season for Blackfield as they became back to back champions as they finished seven points clear at the top. They will be promoted into the Evo-Stik Premier South division next season.

Southern League Director presented the Watersiders with their league medals and the Southern Division One Shield at the end of the game.

However, Blackfield's season is not over yet as they travel to Peterborough Sports, a 340-mile round trip, next Saturday to take on the best south and eastern teams in a divisional competition.
