Tumble dryer fire at home in Linhorns Lane, New Milton, prompts advice to keep doors closed




FIREFIGHTERS highlighted the safety importance of keeping doors closed after tackling a tumble dryer blaze at a New Milton home.

The alarm was raised around 8.20pm on Sunday as flames engulfed the utility room of the property in Linhorns Lane.

Equipped with breathing apparatus, crews from the town and Lymington contained the emergency in just over half an hour. The utility room was completely destroyed.

Pictures of the devastation compared with the state of an adjoining room were shared in a social post by New Milton fire station afterwards.

“Utility room 100% by fire but crews worked hard and prevented spread into the attached property,” it said.

“The benefit of closing doors was also very apparent!”
