New Forest District Council takes 'correct action' after cow died in collision with refuse lorry
"CORRECT action" has been taken by New Forest District Council against a refuse lorry driver involved in a fatal incident with a cow.
A spokesperson for NFDC said it could not expand on the detail as it concerned "an individual and is a confidential matter".
She added: "Our investigation has concluded and correct action has been taken."
As reported in the A&T, the truck was involved in the collision with a cow close to the Dibden Purlieu cattlegrid on the B3054 at Hilltop at around 1pm on Wednesday 12th May.
Agister Mike Lovell was called out and had to put down the animal because of the injuries it had suffered.
The NFDC vehicle was travelling towards Beaulieu at the time of the incident. A spokesperson for the council subsequently said it would be "looking into the circumstances of the incident".
